Donald Dennis Cannon

Donald D. Cannon 83, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 after a brief illness. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Meade Corp. after 40 years. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, David Eugene and Eula Elva Cannon; brother, Robert. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley. He was the love of her life. He is also survived by his daughter, Wanda Dunn and husband Tim; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Jeanann Winegar and husband Paul; brother, Ivan; and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:30pm on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Mike Angolin officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Brown. Entombment services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vernon Heights Missionary Baptist Church or their Ministry House at 2547 Russell Street Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
