Helmuth Weber, Age 80, of Nokomis, Florida, went to heaven in the early morning hours of March 15th, 2019. He was born on December 29th, 1938 in Medias, Romania. Helmuth was the third of nine children born to Johann and Anna Weber. As a young man he worked as an apprentice in business accounting in Germany. He immigrated to America at the age of 17 with his parents and seven of his siblings on October 2nd, 1956. Helmuth went back to Germany in 1959 to attend a Church of God youth conference. While there, he quickly fell in love with Ingrid Lenk. He was engaged to her within the week. Helmuth returned to America to make preparations for their lives together. Ingrid left everything and followed him 15 months later. They were married December 10th 1960 at the Belden Avenue Church of God in Chicago Illinois. Their marriage of 58 years had a profound impact on anyone watching. Helmuth tenderly loved Ingrid, often gazing at her from the other side of the room, the same way he did when he fell in love with her at first. Helmuth was held in high honor and loved by many, but none respected and loved him so much as his wife Ingrid. Helmuth and Ingrid became US citizens in June of 1967. Helmuth understood the horrors of living under vile government. He never took the United States of America for granted. He worked hard to provide for his family and was employed in several different capacities in the telephone industry. He worked on the assembly line, in engineering and design, and in accounting and middle management. In 1989, Helmuth retired after 32 years of service with AT&T and its subsidiaries. After retirement, Helmuth worked for a season for H&R Block. He also spent time helping family and friends prepare tax returns and was always willing to offer wise counsel. People were the centerpiece of Helmuth's life, as he fulfilled the roles of Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, ""Opa"", and friend. His sons remember him as a hardworking provider. At one time in the early years he held down three jobs to provide for the family. Even though he was a hard worker, he also made time for family trips and fixing flat tires on bicycles. And even though there were some lean years financially, he was always generous. He was always willing to help someone in need. He was steady… like a rock. He was a man of faith. His commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ was an unshakeable commitment. He faithfully attended church and was always involved serving in whatever church he attended. To his grandchildren and great grandchildren he was the unsurpassed ""Opa"". He always was ready to share some of Oma's special desserts with them or build paper boats and airplanes. They also enjoyed many card games and board games together. He was a generous steward of what God had given him in both time and resources. He was at his happiest when he was investing in the Kingdom of God. Helmuth faced the reality of death and the awareness of heaven with confident assurance. His citizenship in heaven is now fully realized. He is survived by: His wife Ingrid Weber, of Nokomis, Florida. Three sons: Harold Weber of Carol Stream, IL, Bernie Weber of Glendale Heights, IL, and Steve (Meg) Weber of Williamsburg, VA. 7 Siblings: Annette Flanagan, Viktor (Peggie) Weber, Ruth Angelacos, Dorothea (Peter) Ochoa, John (Jackie) Weber, Esther (Robert) Dubi, Peter (Carla) Weber, 4 grand children: Lindsay (Josh) Baker, Cara Weber, Bethany Weber, Josiah Weber 6 great grandchildren: Oric, Ethan, Hudson, Elise, and Anna, and one who will be born in June.
