Grace M. ""Chickie"" Mariani, age 84, of Venice, FL, passed away on August 16, 2017. She was born to Joseph and Dorothy Deighan on February 26, 1933 in Newark, NJ, and came to Venice in 2001 from Parsippany, NJ, where she worked as a dental office manager. Grace was involved in many ministries at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Venice, FL. She was House Manager, Usher and seamstress at Venice Theatre and Treasurer of the New Jerseyans of Florida Club. Grace is survived by her children: daughter Debra Blum and husband John, son Guy J. Mariani and wife Karen, and daughter Linda DeNiro and husband Phil; grandchildren and great grandchildren Guy M. and Jenn and Michael Mariani, Jarret and Kyla, Sebastian, Huxley and Essie Grace Blum; Justin and Tonja and Sadye Blum; Connor, Ryan, and Kelly Mariani; Tony and Teri Lyn DeNiro; sister Dorothy and John Mendes, and Brothers: Joseph and Margie Deighan; William (Ricky) and Jane Deighan, her many nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend, Esther Sebesto. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Guy (Junie) Mariani, and sister Frances Wilfong. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes, Venice, Florida. Reception at Church Hall will follow the service.
