Edna Mae (Simpson) Wamsley April 30, 1937 – July 15, 2022 She lived the dash between birth and death serving the Lord with great joy. She was born in Hawkins County, TN but moved to Ohio in her teens where she married Ezra M Wamsley, Jr, who preceded her in death. She passed away at her home with praying, singing, and the love of her family surrounding her. Her greatest joy was serving and working for the Lord. She enjoyed mission work, teaching, praying, but most of all singing. Thru her music all those she met knew she loved the Lord. The legacy of her singing for the Lord is one that will not be forgotten. Preceding her in death were parents, Norman and Wanetta (Quillen) Simpson, step-mother, Ora (Arnold) Simpson, son, Rocky L. Wamsley Sr. Sisters; Dorothy Penely and Cyretha (Ann) Matthews. Brothers; W.C. (Dub) Simpson, Milbern (Tip) Simpson, David Simpson. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters; Shilia Hale and husband Danny of McMinnville, and Dorsie Peterson with Gary McMurray of Port Clinton; son Norman Wamsley with wife Cheryl of McMinnville. Grandchildren Stephanie Stone and husband Jeremy, Daniele Brady, Regina Harrington with husband William, Rachael McBride with husband Chad, Rocky Wamsley Jr with Brittany, Brandon Hale with wife Denali, Bethany Cooper with husband Derrick, Jonathon Peterson, William Peterson Jr and Stacey Anderson. 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Daughters in Law; Joanne Wamsley and Karen Wamsley. Sisters; Violet Simpson, Wanda Brumfield, Nellie Morelock with husband Jimmy, Elsie Miller with husband Rex, Vickie Manis with husband Larry, Jessie Ball with husband Johnny. Brothers; Jimmy Simpson with wife Ann, Rev. Roy (Bob) Simpson with wife Helen, Marvin Simpson, Johnny Arnold, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Van Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 2194 Beech Creek Rd, Rogersville, TN (Van Hill Community). Services will follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. Carey Ryan officiating. Music will be provided by the Jackson Family. Interment will follow the services in the Weems Cemetery, Van Hill Community. Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill, TN is serving the Wamsley family.
