Obituary Lexington - Thomas "Bill" Nichols, 83, passed away on Wed, Jan 11, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born in Thomas, KY on June 12, 1928 to Robert and Nancy McCoy Nichols. He served in the U.S. Navy and attended Georgetown College where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Jean Henry of Sullivan, Kentucky. After a long and successful career in retail management, he took over the reins of the family business, Bluegrass Mailing Data and Fulfillment Services, where under his guidance the business grew and flourished. He always considered Bluegrass and its employees to be an extension of his family. He dedicated his life to being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He also took pride in being a role model and big brother to his younger siblings. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; his son, Bill (Susan) Nichols; his daughter, Jackie (Bob) Allen; and four granddaughters whom he cherished, Melissa and Sammi Ellen Nichols, Sunny Allen, and Amber (Michael) Colliver. He is also survived by three sisters, Barbara Cassady of Inez, KY, Gwin (Cliff) Perry of OH, and Karen (Jim) Buzard of Lexington, KY; brothers Jimmy (Janet) Nichols and Bob (Doris) Nichols of OH; a brother-in-law, T. Gerald Henry of Richmond, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann McCoy. A Funeral Information A Gathering of Family and Friends will be 1-3 pm, Sunday, Jan 15 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, followed by a Celebration of Life Service.
