Francis A. "Frank" Moitis
September 20th, 1928 - August 14th, 2016
Francis ""Frank"" A. Moitis, 87, of Venice, Florida was taken to heaven Sunday, August 14, 2016. A husband, loving father and grandfather, Frank was born September 20, 1928 in Buffalo, NY. Preceded in death by his parents Peter and Ethel Moitis, he graduated from Cleveland East Tech High School and the University of Steubenville, Ohio. A veteran of the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Air Force, Frank was a detonator and attained the rank of first class Airman. His career included tenure of 20 years with WSTV in Steubenville as a technician and as a member of the sales department. Coaching basketball was his volunteer activity. He also owned a restaurant, 1777 for 15 years. At retirement he was a cable technician in Columbus, Ohio, later moving to Venice, Florida in 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Wilkin) Moitis, daughter Susan Weston, grandchildren Adam and Alex, son-in-law Randy of North Carolina, son David Moitis in Santa Barbara, CA and his step children Jeff DeBord (wife Amy) and grandchildren, Tucker and Max DeBord of Worthington, Ohio, also step-daughter Jenni Howell (husband Brett) including grandchildren Joe and Kate Worster in Worthington, Ohio. Frank will be remembered for his wonderful humor, his calm, kind, loving demeanor with the talent of listening to others. He was devoted to his wife Sharon, his faith in Jesus through reading his bible and daily devotions. A memorial service will be held at his church, Christ United Methodist Church in Venice, Florida at a later date. In Worthington, Ohio there will be a Celebration of Life held in September 2016. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tidewell Hospice.
