TILDEN, Jonathan Kane, formerly of Bayport, Long Island, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on August 11, 2016, in Venice, FL at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife, Sally (Sileo Tilden) of Venice, FL and mother, Elaine (Tilden) of State College, PA. He is also survived by his daughter, Ellen (Tilden); sons Anthony, Steven, and James (Sileo); sister, Lynn (Wesnofske); and brother, Arnold. Jonathan was born on December 27, 1951 in Huntington, NY to Arnold (Chick) and Elaine. He graduated from Harborfields High School in 1970 and was a talented athlete who earned the school's highest athletic achievement by being inducted into the Retired Number Club for his varsity letters in tennis, basketball, and football. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1974 with a B.S. in psychology. He joined Williams & Rothwell (now Williams & Williams) in 1980 and worked as vice president up until his final day. He was generous with his time and was an active member of the Blue Point Lions Club. He was honored as Lion of the Year in 2002 and became a Melvin Jones Fellow in 2006. Jonathan will be remembered as a wonderful person who touched the lives of everyone he knew with his warmth, optimism and keen sense of humor. He was a steadfast optimist who could find the good in any situation. Burial will be at the Northport Rural Cemetery and a celebration of Jonathan's life and legacy will be held on Thursday, August 25th from 12:00-3:00pm at Cavanaugh's in Blue Point. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name.
