Lexington, KY Jess Lester Malen, 93, died August 3, 2014. He is survived by his wife Candice (Caroll) Malen, sister Bernadine Roberts and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jess and Elsa (Kracke) Malen and a sister Dorothy. Jess was a veteran of WWII where he began his service in the Calvary. His love for horses took him on many adventures around the U.S. and Mexico. Having married Candice 10/27/79, he worked in the horse industry with Steeple Chase competition and with flat horses alike. His love of politics, baseball, traveling and reading filled his quieter times. America mourns the loss of another South Pacific WWII Veteran. Funeral Information There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5-8 PM, Monday, August 18, 2014, at 228 Desha, Lexington, KY 40502. For directions or with questions, call 859.333.8639.
