Online Obituaries for Lexington Brett Michael Nelson, 27, died, Saturday, March 14, 2015. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of Timothy Carroll Nelson of Pataskala, Ohio and Caren Gleason McCarty, of Lexington. Brett was passionate about helping others. He loved working with special need kids, playing soccer, rollerblading, listening to music and loved Kentucky Basketball. Surviving besides his parents, are his brother; James Hunter Nelson, of Lexington, his step-mother; Vicky Nelson, of Pataskala, Ohio, his step-father; Kenneth Paul McCarty, of Lexington, his paternal grandmother; Peggy Durbin of Clay, Kentucky, his maternal grandparents; William James and Virginia Ruth Gleason of New Orleans, Louisiana, his step-sisters; Paige Glunt of Manhattan, New York, Megan Catherine {Simon} Martin of Houston, Texas, his step-brothers; Josh {Erica} Glunt of Greenville, South Carolina and Michael Cameron McCarty of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, two aunts, an uncle, cousins and great cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lt. Col Jimmie C. Nelson. Funeral Information His visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing followed by his Celebration of Life service at 3 p.m. conducted by Pastor Griff Ray.
