Paul Albert Allen, M.D.
April 1st, 1948 - July 4th, 2012
Dr. Paul A. Allen died at home on July 4, 2012. He was born April 1, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Marian and Albert Allen and grew up in Selah, Washington where he graduated from high school. He married Maribeth (Renneberg) in 1969 and graduated from University of Oregon Medical School in 1973. Paul practiced medicine in Richland Washington for 23 years and worked with the Tri-City Chaplaincy to establish Hospice programs in Eastern Washington. With Maribeth, he founded LifeLink, one of the first wellness and preventative medicine programs in the state. For the last decade, Paul worked with the hospitalist program at Swedish Edmonds where he was beloved by colleagues and patients alike for his compassionate care and the classical music he loved to share. He is survived by his wife; daughters Karen Allen, Lisa Welch, and Jennie Allen; and grandchildren Tsifira, Braden, and Adara. Announcement: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tri-City Chaplaincy.
