Joyce G. Kegel April 7, 1932 - October 30, 2015 Formerly of Ellwood City, PA, Joyce graduated from Fairfax Hall, Waynesboro VA. She earned her Associate Degree from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA, and was a member of Chi Omega. Married in 1953, she taught swimming to enlistees while husband serving in the Air Force. She was also a member of Junior Women's Club, Ellwood City Garden Club, a longtime volunteer at Ellwood City Hospital, and a member of Eastern Star. She served several terms on the Board of Directors of Connoquenessing Country Club, and as Secretary/Treasurer of Citizens Publishing and Printing Company, publishers of the Ellwood City Ledger which was then family owned. She moved to Venice, Florida and served as President of the Neighborhood Association, and directed the women's bridge group. She was an an avid golfer and life master bridge player. Preceded in death by parents Harry E. and Olive S. Grine, Joyce is survived by her husband William C. Kegel, to whom she was married for 63 years. Children include, Brooke Kegel Corton and Robert of Southampton NY, Ryan and Patty Hassen Kegel of Ellwood City, Carter and Jean Scholz Kegel of London, England, and Scott and Kirby Cartwright Kegel of Ellwood City. She is also survived by sister Nancy Dobson, niece Susan of Henderson, North Carolina, and grandchildren, Storrs, Parker, Cameron, Witt, Grey, Keely, Christian, Carson, Reed, and Payton. Services will be held in Ellwood City at Christ Church Presbyterian, November 13. Her family will be receiving friends from 2-4 pm, followed by service at 4:00 pm. Please make memorial donations to Ellwood City Area Public Library or the Venice Golf and Country Club Community Foundation.
