February 4, 1931 – June 1, 2015 John Michael Clare, 84, passed away after a 30-year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Kinver, England, John emigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1957, where he met his wife, Beverley. He became a Canadian citizen shortly after they were wed; they would have celebrated their 56th anniversary on June 6th. Their children, Miriam and Ian, were born in Canada and they returned to live in England in 1966. John, a mining engineer, had a successful career with Denver Equipment Co. and Joy Manufacturing Co., where he worked for over 35 years as an executive and Vice President. He traveled extensively all over the world during his career, filling many passports. In 1976 John and his family emigrated to Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1985 after moving to Pennsylvania, John and Beverley became entrepreneurs, purchasing Murrelle Printing Co., Inc. (Clare Printing), now owned by his son, Ian. John became an American Citizen in 1985; he was very proud of his three passports. As a young man John loved the outdoors, especially rock climbing and riding in the Halesowen Cycling Club. He climbed all over Europe, his favorite mountain being Mt. Snowden in Wales. He loved to work with his hands and could fix almost anything! He was an avid woodworker, and once retired, his pride and joy was his woodworking studio. He was a member of Rotary for 15 years, where he served a term as President. John and Beverley loved to travel and continued to do so until Parkinson's took its toll. John is survived by his devoted wife, Beverley; his children, Miriam (Michael) and Ian (Kathleen), his beloved grandchildren, Judge ""Thomas,"" Audrey and Sean, and his nieces, Adrienne, Caroline, and Vivienne. John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjory, his sister Anne and nephew Jonathon and close friend Reid Barton. The family wishes to thank James Stokling for his patient help, caring for John over the past 5 years. A memorial service will be held on June 23rd at 11 AM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1115 Center Road Venice, FL. Services in Sayre are yet to be determined.
