Grace Laurea Fisk
November 29th, 1916 - February 13th, 2017
Grace L. Fisk November 29, 1916 to February 13, 2017Grace has been a long time resident of Edmonds and saw many changes in her 100 years. She worked for the state department and then moved to Seattle Metro where she retired at age 70. She enjoyed working with numbers and was a natural in her positions. Grace never owned a car so she was frequently seen running for the bus to get to work in downtown Seattle. Grace pted a job overseas during WWII and volunteered during her spare time. Being stationed in the Orient increased her love of travel and she continued to travel, visiting much of the United States and Europe. Her extracurricular activities included tennis, badminton, hiking and skiing the bunny slopes and joining the weekday walkers. She was also an avid Washington Huskie fan and followed them to the Rose Bowl several times. Grace enjoyed an active life in the Edmonds community with her tireless and unassuming approach to helping others. In 2005 she was recognized by Kiwanis as Edmonds Citizen of the Year. Grace volunteered for many years in the library, museum, Edmonds Methodist Church and Creative Life Resources. She was a charter member of the local DAR and an active member of the So-Isle Genealogy Society. She was a fountain of knowledge about the history of Edmonds and would frequently pull photos from her private collection to share with local historians. A Memorial Service will be held at Edmonds United Methodist Church on Wednesday February 22 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonds Museum, 118 Fifth Avenue, Edmonds, WA 98020.
