Vincent James Palermo, Jr.
April 10th, 1953 - February 27th, 2017
Vince was born on April 10, 1953, in Chicago to his loving parents, Vince and Ann Palermo. He was the oldest of four boys and spent his youth in Berwyn and Naperville enjoying lively occasions with many cousins and relatives and a strong family life. He attended Morton West High School and the College of Dupage before starting his working career which included sales, real estate and his own sussful home building company. He was blessed with two lovely daughters, Anne Palermo Shaeffer and Jeanne Palermo, but later lost Jeanne tragically in a car accident. In 1988, he met his lovely wife, Doris (Dodie) and they relocated to Seattle, WA, where he followed careers in sales and 21 years at Century Link as a service representative. Throughout their life together, Vince and Dodie enjoyed their home, travelling to Mexico and Hawaii and simple relaxation in their yard with their beloved hummingbirds. Vince loved to cook, and perfected his grilling and homemade pizza techniques on his favorite Big Green Egg grill. In 2002, Vince was diagnosed with leukemia which he sussfully fought and overcame with a bone marrow transplant provided by his brother, Tony. Vince then went on to pursue his lifelong love of motorcycles and took annual trips to Sturgis and other rallies throughout the years. He loved to ride and he loved his motorcycle buddies. Along with his life with Dodie, his home and yard, and his motorcycle trips, he also loved his daughter, Anne, and his two young grandchildren, William and Elizabeth. He liked being a Grandpa.Vince was only 63 when he lost his battle with his second cancer. He is survived by his lovely wife, Dodie, his Mom, Ann, his brothers, Tom, Rick and Tony, his daughter Anne and two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth.Vince loved people and his care for them caused him to make many friends wherever he went through his life. Vince has left us just too soon. We love him and will miss his gentle, caring sweet nature forever. There will be a wake on Friday, March 3, 2017 from p.m. at Becks Tribute Center. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Valley Catholic Church on March 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. with a brief recn before interment at Holyrood Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
