William I. Murphy, 89, of Lynnwood, WA died on November 30, 2012. Bill was born in Lakeville, Minn. in 1923 and moved to Seattle in 1941. Bill entered the U.S. Army in 1942 serving until 1945; receiving two awards of merit. Upon returning from the service he entered the service station business, television and appliance business, and later the real estate business for 25 years (Olympic Properties). Bill married Ruth Jesse in 1943; she preceded him in death in 1988. Also preceding him in death was his son, John, in 1998. He is survived by sons, Michael (Karen) Murphy and Dan (Julie) Murphy; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; his brother, Warren; sisters, Mildret Riha and Rosie Hullett of Minn. Bill enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and spending time wintering in California. He was also an active member of the Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonds.The family wishes to thank FairwindsBrighton Court in Lynnwood for their love and concern.A Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 630 7 Ave. N, Edmonds, WA; Interment to following at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline, WA.
