Mrs. Gladys Newby Baker

Obituary Gladys Newby Baker, 96, of Versailles, Kentucky and the widow of Lee Baker, went to her heavenly homeTuesday, July 3, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Selby and Lucy Newby. Her greatest joy was being the devoted mother of Wanda Hill, Darlene (Robert) Bowles, Charles "Buddy" (Ann) Baker, Wayne (Roberta) Baker, and Debbie Reed. She is now reunited with her husband of 68 years; their son, Lee Jr; and the grandchildren, family, and friends who preceded her. She was the grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 25, and great-great grandmother. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd (Jean) Newby; sister-in-law, Doris Newby; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Baker was a longtime member of the Clover Bottom Baptist Church and a member of the Troy Homemakers.The family extends its deepest gratitude to all who loved Mrs. Baker and cared for her. Funeral Information Rev. Don Reed and Rev. Susan Reed will lead in the celebration of her life and faith at 1:00 pm, on Friday, July 6 , at the Clark Funeral Home in Versailles. Visitation begins at 11:00 am before the service.
