Chuck went home to his Lord to join his wife Tess on May 11, 2017. Chuck was born May 17, 1923 in Center Township, North Dakota. He attended a country school for eight years, graduating from McVille High School.He was drafted into the Army, serving his country until his discharge in 1944. He returned to North Dakota and in 1948. Chuck married Tessa (Larson) and with this union they raised 5 children. After several years of farming, Chuck, Tess and family moved to Lynnwood, Washington so they could be closer to Tessas sister Esther Sateren. Chuck worked for Seattle Construction until he became self-employed in 1960 as Mickels Construction.He was a talented wood worker spending many hours in his shop drawing, creating and building many projects. He was a North Dakota farmer who enjoyed his vege garden. Chuck was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1956. He was a member of the International Folk Dance Club and Sons of Norway Fjell Dance Club.Chuck is survived by his children: Randy (Karin) of Edmonds, Stan (Catherine) of Camano Island, Kathy Teigen (Roger) of Lake Chelan, Susan Mickels of Everett, Scott (Carolann) of Camano Island; his sisters Evie Robb of Wisconsin, Carol Loiland of North Dakota, sisters-in-law Esther Sateren of Lynnwood, Grace Ringdahl, Janet Larson and Opal Smaaladen of North Dakota. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Chuck will be missed greatly by his family and many friends who love him. He is preceded in death by his wife Tessa, brothers Bobbie and Ronnie, and sisters Dot and Betty.Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Friday May 19, 2017 at Becks Tribute Center, 405 Fifth Avenue South, Edmonds, Washington 98020. Memorial are suggested by a charity of your choice.
