Michael "Joey" Joseph Morgan
December 31st, 1969 - January 4th, 2016
Lexington, Kentucky Michael Joseph "Joey" Morgan, age 46 of Lexington, Ky (formerly of Fairfield, Ohio), lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2016 at 2:30 PM. His family was at his bedside. Mike "Joey" was born at Ft. Hamilton Hospital, Hamilton, Ohio on December 31, 1969 and is the son of Virginia "Ginny" Morgan, also of Lexington, KY (and formerly Fairfield, Ohio). He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1988. He attended Miami University of Oxford and Cincinnati Technical College where he was a business and culinary arts major. Mike "Joey" went on to become a fabulous cook and often shared this talent with family and friends. He worked in the restaurant business as a manager for many years in Hamilton and Fairfield, Ohio. In 2005, he moved to Lexington to join his family and opened his own business "The Mike Company" and became known as "Mike the Painter". He took pride in his work and made many friends through his business. He is survived by his mother, Ginny of Lexington, Ky, a sister, Kimberly Diane (Joe) Jacoboski of Shorewood, Il, a brother, Joseph Scott (Lea) Morgan of Lexington and a sister, Tammy Joyce (Chris) Curtis of Lexington. Mike "Joey" was a big fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He enjoyed time with family and friends and especially his nieces and nephews, Leah (John), Laci (Jordan), Tanner, Ella, Paeton, Jayden, Campbell Ethan, Emma, Ellie and Jack. He also enjoyed spending time with long time friends; the Allen's (Devin, Heather and sons Cameron and Brady) of Fort Mill, SC. Mike "Joey" will be terribly missed by all who knew him. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 Funeral Information Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at: Crossroads Christian Church, 4128 Todds Road, Lexington, KY. Visitation: 3:00-4:30 Celebration of Life Service for Mike "Joey" 5:00-6:30 Dinner to follow for family and close friends
