Sally C. Jester

Sally Ann Callahan Jester, 81, was called home for her heavenly reunion with her Lord and family on February 4th, 2018. Sally Ann fought a long battle with Alzheimers and we are happy for her to finally be free. Sally Ann was the red headed, brown eyed daughter born to Lena Jane and Bill Callahan in Meadowview, VA. on May 9th,1936. Sally Ann was a character with a big sense of humor and a talent for storytelling, her earthly presence will be greatly missed by all her knew her. She enjoyed nothing more than to cut up and joke with folks and aggravate her husband Robert “Bob” Jester. She found great amusement out of pranking her friends, family and most importantly her children. Sally Ann had a gift for music by reading music and playing by ear. She played the piano, organ and the accordion. She often could be found sitting at the piano playing her favorite old Hymns. Sally Ann had a life-long love affair with Moon Pies, Lays Chips and RC Cola. She was not a very good cook, lucky for her, Bob did not care. If she was in the kitchen cooking her children knew they were mostly likely eating brown beans and cornbread for dinner which was one of her favorite meals. Sally Ann retired from the Family Care Center at age 72 where she formed a loved family with her work sisters. She also spent many years as a Hospice volunteer. Sally Ann had an ability to form friendships with all that crossed her path. Sally Ann was preceded in death by her husband Bob Jester. She is the last sibling of eight brothers and sisters to come home. Nannie she will not let you know she is coming….she will just show up at any time of day or night. If you could leave the heaven carport light on that would be much appreciated. Sally Ann leaves behind two children, Bill and Cindy and two grandsons, Alex and Nathan along with many more family and friends. A very special thank you to an extended family member Angie for her love and support in Sally’s last days. A celebration of Sally Ann Callahan Jester will be on Saturday February 10th at Legacy Clark Celebration Center.
