James "Jim" Milam McDowell, age 76, passed away on May 4, 2018 at his home. Jim was born in Fayette County, KY on July 10, 1941 to the late Millard McDowell and Edwina Bush McDowell. Aside from his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Addie Baker. Jim served his country in the Navy and he retired as a maintenance technician at Walmart. Jim is survived by his children, Edwina (Rick) Barbour (Lexington), James (Brandi) McDowell (Lexington), Elizabeth Drzewiecki (Wisconsin), Kevin Tudor (Mt. Sterling); sisters Millie (Gary) Walker, Minnie McDowell, Lorena (Frank) Coy and Margaret Webb; brothers Johnny (Ruth) McDowell and Millard (Peggy) McDowell II; grandchildren Anthony (Erica) Thurman, Alex Thurman, Andrew (Patricia) Thurman and Adam Thurman; great grandchildren Waylon, Melonie, Molly and Johanna; brother in law Don Baker; several nieces and nephews and his loving companion and caregiver Melody Kay Heath. Graveside services are pending at Camp Nelson.
