Barbara Esther Dahl

We share and celebrate the life of Barbara Dahl who left her pain behind and joined her loved ones who preceded her in death on July 1, 2015. Barbara was a loving caring person whom we called mother, wife, grandmother, great grand mother, aunt and friend. We all came to love her for the many ways in which she touched each of our lives. She brought a special love and joy to each of us and in her own unique way made each of us feel we were truly an important part of her life and happiness. Barbara was born January 27, 1924, to her parents, John and Bernice Lindquist in Bellingham, Washington. She grew up in Bellingham where she attended Bellingham High School. She loved to ski and even worked as a movie theatre attendant when the movie Gone With the Wind originally aired. Over her lifetime Barbara held several working positions, but was very proud of the business she started; RT Hood and Duct Cleaning in Edmonds, Washington. While this accomplishment was important to her she shared that it paled in comparison to her role as mother of six children. She was happiest when spending time with her children and as they now all have families of their own sharing the accomplishments and many stories of each of her children with family, friends and care givers. She loved the home and the life she shared with her husband Chester (Chet) Dahl of 73 years where together they raised six children. They both cared very deeply for their family, but Mom always saw her role as chief care giver, nurse, counselor, motivator and consoler as what she was sent here to be. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Bernice Lindquist, her brother, Reg Lindquist and her second oldest son Steven Bradley Dahl. Barbara is survived by her 94 year old husband Chester Alfred Dahl, her children David Dahl of Tucson, Arizona, Debra Dahl of Greenbank, Washington, Jeffrey Dahl of Boise, Idaho, Richard Dahl of Everett, Washington and James Dahl of Edmonds, Washington. Blessed with nine Grand Children; Jeff, Doug, Heather, Tyler, Aron, Ian, Noah, Tessa and Lauren as well as four Great Grand Children. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Becks Funeral Home.
