Benedict Squeo November 29, 1927 – September 15, 2011 Ben Squeo went to be with the Lord peacefully, praise God, in the early morning hours of September 15, 2011. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of Anthony Squeo and Nettie Errico. Owner of the Crown Food Store on Tunxis Hill Road, Fairfield Connecticut, and butcher to many, Ben eventually worked for the Fairfield Post Office until 1968 when he transferred to the Venice Post Office until his retirement in 1989. Ben is survived by his wife, Jean, sister-in-law Caroline Hogberg, son Paul, daughter Bonny Jarret, both of Venice and daughter Holly Courtney of Prescott, Arizona, one granddaughter, Ally Squeo of Venice, and 2 step grandchildren, Joshua and Lindsay Courtney. Ben lived for his family; he was an earthly example of our Heavenly Father’s love to us and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A private family graveside service will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
