John “Jack” Whitehead, 86, lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ, resided in Venice, FL since 2005, died February 20, 2010. Jack was born March 21, 1923 in Trenton, NJ to Hazel (Smith) and Winthrop Whitehead. Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Stokes) Whitehead in Venice; son and daughter-in-law, John S. and Kirsten; four grandsons: Truett, Bogan, Garver, and Davison; all from Venice. A graduate of the Class of 1941 Trenton Central High School, he was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Navy for three years during WWII. He retired from NJ Bell Telephone Company as manager after 39 years. Jack was Vice President and Treasurer of Home Rubber Co. in Trenton for 15 years; President of Optimist Club, Torch Club, and Trenton Symposium, all in Trenton; Governor of The Society of Colonial Wars of NJ; Vice President of Society of Cincinnati New Jersey New Jersey Chapter; member of The Minor Chapter of Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church in Trenton; member of Nassau Club in Princeton, NJ; member of Trenton Country Club; member of Skytop Club in PA and Secretary of the Boy’s Club in Trenton.
