Roxana Theodora Gabunea

Roxana Teodora Gabunea, our beloved friend in Seattle, Washington, has left us on September 24, 2019 after a difficult illness. Roxana was 72 years old and was born in Romania. She came to US at age 23 and loved her new home. In Romania she was a talented artistic ice skater and graduated from the Economics Academy in Bucharest. In US she married Oliver and dedicated her career to helping children and old people. She worked as a social worker in New York and Seattle where she helped foster children. She also helped with the adoption of Romanian children by American citizens. In Seattle she cared for older people in her own Adult Family Home until 2016. Many of her patients’ families thanked her for the exceptional care and dedication. Roxana leaves behind her 97-year old mother Maria Gabunea. Roxana will always be remembered as a happy and joyful friend.
