Barbara Nellie Fennessey, nee Lamothe, died on May 15, 2009. She was born December 28, 1932 in Barre, VT, the daughter of Millie and Isadore Lamothe. Moving from Vermont to Massachusetts as a young girl, she attended St. Michael’s High School, Northampton, MA. Barbara was a weaver at United Elastic in Easthampton, MA for many years before entering the banking industry in Northampton MA in 1968. She retired fro banking in 1984 and in the following years she and her husband Joe spent time between their beloved summer home in Goshen, MA and their permanent residence in Nokomis, FL. Barbara was an avid gardener, creative cook and had an adventurous, nurturing and independent spirit. Barbara made many friends in the real world and in online senior health and gardening chat rooms. She organized a meeting of online friends where each brought gifts to share from their own region. Her friendship, support, and unconditional love for others will be missed. Surviving family members include her husband of 27 years, Joseph T. Fennessey of Nokomis, FL; son Kenneth Couchon of Athol, MA; son James Couchon and his partner Michael Izdepski of Springfield, MA; daughter Carol Conz and her husband Gregory of Williamsburg, MA; son John Couchon of Englewood, FL; grandson Aaron Newton and wife Erica of Eielson, AFB Alaska; and great grandson Alex Newton. She was predeceased by her former husband Donald Couchon; sisters Esther, Evelyn, and Elaine; brother Robert; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
