Eleanor Van Buren, 88, of Venice, Fl formerly of North Port, Saratoga Springs and Ballston, NY passed away April 15, 2009 at Village on the Isle Nursing Home in Venice, Florida. Eleanor was born March 25, 1921 in Albany, NY and was the daughter of the late William and Anna Merkle. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Cherry (Dave) of Bluffton, South Carolina; Ann Marie McPherson (Robert) of Great Falls, Virginia; and three sons, William (Pattie) of Bluffton, South Carolina and New York; James (Theresa) of Newton, Pennsylvania and John (Ann Marie) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; sister, Ethel Austin of Alvarado, Texas, sister in law, Rosemary Tappan, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Cornelius Van Buren and sister, Jane Conrad of New York.
