Marilyn Jane Binder, 74, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Marilyn was born on November 30, 1948, in Greenville, Kentucky to the late Paul Payton and Doris Smith Jones. Marilyn worked for several years at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Kentucky. She was a dedicated surgical tech and went on to work for St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, for almost thirty years. She was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Versailles, Kentucky. A wonderful Mother and grandmother, Marilyn enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play in sporting events. She was an avid UK Basketball fan. Marilyn loved to read books and was fond of doing crossword puzzles. She also adored going out shopping. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Ed Binder of Versailles, her mother, Doris Jones, daughter Morgan (John) Carpenter of Versailles, sons; Scott (Stephanie) Heltsley of Louisville, Jarrod Wagoner of Louisville, Jared Binder of Georgetown, sisters; Kim Wagoner of Bremen, Kentucky and Vonda (John) Miller of Greenville, brothers Terry Jones of Hopkinsville and Dennis Jones of Owensboro, grandchildren; Taylor (Collin) Hayes, Halee (Trevor) Dixon, Cody Heltsley, Trey Binder, Addilynn Carpenter, John Balma of Inman South Carolina; Kieven Sabusap of Burnsville, Minnesota, great grandchildren Maverick Hayes, Violet Hayes, Gabriel Dixon, Kason Sabusap of Burnsville, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul Payton and one brother Ronnie Payton. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home in Versailles from 5pm to 7pm. Another visitation and funeral will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Neal’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Bremen, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 11am and go on until 1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm with Bro. Joey Todd officiating. A burial will follow the service on Friday, and she will be laid to rest at the New Bethleham Cemetery in Bremen, Kentucky.
