James Dee Condon
February 10th, 1939 - November 28th, 2021
It has been a year since you passed, and I have been struggling to find the words to describe how much we miss you. My father was born during hard times in Cripple Creek, Colorado. There he spent time hunting rabbits and fishing for brook trout in the high mountain streams. He joined the navy at 17 and served in Asia from 1956-1962. He operated landing crafts and was a competitive marksman. He was proud of his time in the navy, as are we. He married our mother Mavis and started a family in 1961. He moved his family to Seattle to work for Boeing. He left Boeing and became a carpenter. Woodcraft was his genius, and he was a master carpenter until he retired. Many of the skills he possessed are no longer found. After retiring he had many passions: hunting, fishing, gardening, canning and creating wooden works of art with his hands. He played cribbage regularly and had many friends at the local senior centers. This is how he met his beloved Cathy, who was with him until the end. Dad, thank you for the gift of life and the love of life. Thank you for our love of nature and our appreciation for gardening, home crafts and the beautiful art you created with wood. I will miss your gifts of jam, honey, and canned goods from whatever you were harvesting at the time. Thank you for the many fond memories. I will miss our fishing trips. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister, and brothers. He is survived by Cathy Ruth, his son Tom (Sharon), his son Gary (Monique), and his grandchildren: Chelsie, Brennan, Aamon and Daleena. His lifelong friends Ted Kitchner (Donna) and Doug McCart (Delgina). He is interred at Tahoma National Cemetery Special thanks to Evergreen Hospice for the amazing work that they do.
