Mary Elizabeth Perry Chapman

VERSAILLES Mary Elizabeth Perry Chapman, 68, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. The wife of William Spurgeon Chapman, Mary was born November 14, 1955, to the late Robert and Bettye Forkner Perry in Versailles, Kentucky. A member of Hillsboro Baptist Church in Versailles, she was an Expert Nantucket Basket Maker and a very active member of the Bluegrass Area Basket Association, as well as a member of The Country Rockers. In addition to her memberships, Mary was a licensed Insurance Sales Agent for State Farm Insurance for over 40 years in both Versailles and Lexington. In addition to her loving husband, William Spurgeon Chapman of Versailles, Mary is survived by her sister, Amanda (Roy) Lancaster of Versailles; her nieces and nephews, Hyter Lancaster, Patrick Perry, Emily Perry Benedict, Rebecca Shryock, J.W. Elliott, Kendall Elliott, Paige Webb, Chris Hayes, and Madison Webb; numerous great nieces and nephews; her best friend, Betty Overly of Paris; and her beloved calico cat, Chase. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bettye Forkner Perry and her brother, George Perry. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30a, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Versailles, with Pastor Dale Ragland officiating. Burial will follow in Versailles Cemetery with Hyter Lancaster, Patrick Perry, Michael Benedict, Holly Chapman, Andrew Payton, and Jeremy Shryock serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 4:00p until 8:00p, on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Versailles.
