Ruben Martinez, Sr., age 76, of North Port, Florida, passed away on January 12, 2009. He was born on April 9, 1932 in Puerto Rico. He moved to North Port five years ago from Jacksonville, Florida. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Guillermina of North Port; five children, Ruben Martinez, Jr. of North Port, Janet Otero of Jacksonville, Israel Martinez of Jacksonville, Cathy DeUsoz of New York and Regina Martinez of Michigan. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12:30pm on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is handling the arrangements.
