David Edward Burks September 1, 1939- November 22, 2018 David Burks, 79, of Lakewood Colorado passed peacefully on November 22, 2018, survived by his wife Farol Ann Burks. David was born in St. Louis Missouri, to Andy Edward Burks and Margaret Elizabeth (Bartholomew) Burks. He had a younger sibling Anne Louise (Burks) Mannis still living in his hometown of Dewitt, Arkansas. On June 24, 1962, he married Farol Ann Mitchell and was father of Scott Edward Burks and Michelle Diane (Burks) Mahon and preceded in death by Christopher Todd Burks. Grandfather of Blake Michael Mahon and Emily Noble Mahon. David graduated from St. Charles High School in Arkansas in 1957. In 1959, David joined the U.S. Army and served in Bamberg Germany. After his service, he moved to Colorado and worked in Warehouse Management. He eventually took an early retirement from The Gates Rubber Company after over 20 years, and finally happily retiring at 65 from Ball Aerospace Corporation. David had a passion for family, all animals and helping others. He loved his church and served in various positions in the church, including treasurer and choir member. A Celebration of his Life reception will be held in Frazee Chapel at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene (1755 Dover St, Lakewood, CO 80215) on Wednesday, December 5th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Services will be held with military honors on Wednesday December 5th at 2:00 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation †œIn Honor of David E.
