Adele Lindquist, 89, of Esko, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital. Born in 1920 in Thomson Township, Adele was the daughter of Axel and Lempi Tahti. She was raised in Midway Township and attended Esko schools. Adele married Ernest Lindquist on July 30, 1947. She was a nurses' aide and worked in the housekeeping departments of Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital, Nopeming and Carlton Nursing Homes and Virginia Memorial Hospital. Adele attended Pine Hill Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking, antique collecting, crocheting, knitting and blueberry picking. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eleanor Melanson and a brother, Edwin "Sulo" Tahti. Adele is survived by her husband, Ernest, of Esko; four children, Darlene Bayer of Ontario, CA, Dennis (Sharon) Lindquist of Plano, TX, Sandra (Peter) Frank of Holly Lake Ranch, TX and Lyle Lindquist of Esko; three grandchildren, Heidi (Mark) Sotelo, Jeremy (Mindy) Lindquist and Sarah Merritt; two great grandchildren, Victoria Merritt and Steve Sotelo; a brother, Paul Tahti of Los Angeles, CA and two sisters, Julie Butchko of Dayton, Ohio and Kathleen Mahalla of Upper Marlbourgh, Maryland. Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in the Fireside Room of Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Burial was in Eagle Lake Cemetery, Cromwell.
