Alberta Marion Erickson
January 6th, 1928 - May 1st, 2014
Alberta Marion Erickson, 86 of Mahtowa died Thursday, May 1, 2014 in her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born January 6, 1928 in Dubuque, Iowa to Albert and Genevieve Oswald. She graduated from Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1946. Alberta worked for Bendix Corp. and later for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric until 1962. On May 20, 1961 she married Earl Erickson in Davenport. In 1962 they moved to Madison until Earl was transferred to the Twin Cities in 1975. After Earls retirement, they moved to Mahtowa in 1995. Alberta was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and appreciated the fine arts. She was an artist enjoying acrylic painting, pen and ink, and working with pottery. She was a lifetime member of the Artists of Minnesota and was a member of many local art groups. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ronald Oswald. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Earl; one son, Rollie (Cass) of St. Paul; sister-in-law, Nancy Oswald of Davenport; brother-in-law, Tim Korhonen of Esko; 1 niece and 3 nephews. Visitation: 6 until the 7 p.m. memorial service Tuesday,May 6, 2014 in Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa. A time of refreshments will follow. Inurnment will be in Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Salem Lutheran Church Parish Nurse Program. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
