Alice May Logan

Alice May Logan, age 85, died while in residence at Broadmoor Court Assisted Living Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Alice was born on December 5, 1930 in Thedford, Nebraska, and moved with her parents, Charles Wesley and Bonnie Noble Darnell to a farm north of Ordway, Colorado in south Lincoln County. Alice met James R. Logan, also from the area, and they married June 16, 1948. Alice made a wonderful home for her children and supplemented the ranch income by driving a school bus for Karval Public School where her four children attended. In 1980, James and Alice sold the ranch and moved to Ridgefield, Washington where Alice became a successful real estate agent and enjoyed traveling and gardening.Alice and Jim retired and returned to her childhood home near Ordway and enjoyed visits from her family far and wide. Alice loved to teach her grandchildren about nature by going rock and arrowhead hunting or looking at the stars. Memories of catching toads under the garden faucet and learning about the hawk are treasured.She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.She is survived by her husband, James; her four children, Russell of Medford, Oregon, Douglas (Kathy) of Palmer, Alaska, Nadine (Tom) Thompson of Colorado Springs, and David (Sheri) of Bayard, Nebraska; and their families that include thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Also, her sisters, brothers and sister-in-law, Joyce (Lowell) Johnston of Arlington and Bonnie (Paul) Clouse of Cheraw, and Donna Darnell of La Junta.
