The funeral service for Alice Yainske, age 98, will be held at Como Park Lutheran Church in St. Paul. She passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 in Carlton, MN. Alice Berniece Lindstrom, daughter of Carl and Mabel Lindstrom, was born November 23, 1924 in Litchville, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church; graduated as valedictorian from Litchville High School in 1942 and worked for the Litchville State Bank for a year and a half before attending Fargo Business College. On October 28, 1944, she married Starr Coady in Berkley, California where he was serving in the U.S. Navy. Throughout her husband’s 20 years of service, she worked in various government offices. Upon his retirement they moved back to St. Paul, Minnesota where she was employed by Great Plains Supply. Following Starr’s death in 1967 she married Philip Yainske on September 21, 1974. She moved to New Richland, Minnesota where they made their home on the Yainske family farm. Alice enjoyed reading, embroidering, crocheting, dancing and card playing. She was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Wells, Minnesota and was active in Faith Circle. After Phil’s death in 2014 she moved to Cloquet and became a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton, Minnesota. She is survived by three children from her first marriage: Cheryl Martin, St. Louis Park, MN, Terry (Sue) Coady, Carlton, MN and Deborah (Boyd) Frazier, Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren: Brian (Nicole) and Nathan (Molly) Coady, Shawn (Al) Pearson, Christine and Jeffrey Martin; great-grandchildren; Weston, Savanah and Cheyenne Pearson, Bradley, Corabelle and Parker Coady and Vivienne Martin; brother, Ernest (Jeanne) Lindstrom and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands, Starr Coady and Philip Yainske; sister, Myrna (Rex) McGregor. Blessed be her memory. Visitation: 9:30 am until the funeral begins at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Como Park Lutheran Church, 1376 Hoyt Ave W, St Paul, MN. A luncheon will follow the service.
