Alicia Santiago Berrios, 73, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on November 13, 2022. Born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico to Francisco and Victoria Santiago. She moved and lived in New York for about fourteen years before returning to Puerto Rico, then she moved to central Florida calling it home. Alicia took classes, became a phlebotomist, then she moved to culinary classes, becoming a master chef. She loved cooking, baking, and making her son be the taste tester for all of her dishes, some were good, and some were bad. Alicia was beyond independent and was very set in her ways. She had such determination that when she set her mind to something she did it even if it seemed impossible. She always made sure to reach the goals that she set for herself. She taught her children how to be independent and how to take care of themselves. She was also very spiritual, every time she made a new dish, she had a spiritual reason behind it. She created a cookbook and put a message with every recipe she wrote. Alicia is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Victoria. She is survived by her son, Ben and daughter in law Berta Leon; daughter, Doris Leon; grandsons, Janier, and Eric; brothers, Francisco, and Miguel; sisters, Carmen, Milagros, Nydia. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
