Allen "Butch" Beckrich

December 13th, 1949 - August 8th, 2024

Allen (Butch) Beckrich, 74, passed away on August 8th, 2024, at Regions Hospital in Ocala, FL surrounded by his wife and family after a fall outside their home. He was born on December 13th 1949, in Shakopee, MN to George and Lucille Beckrich. Allen, being born into a large family, did not have it easy, but was fortunate in so many ways. He met the love of his life, Jacki, who he married on February 16th 1968.  Soon thereafter, he joined the Army and was eventually stationed in Hanau, Germany where Jacki soon followed. They welcomed their first son, Todd, while they were abroad. After moving back home, Allen worked for a few foundries and an aluminum die-cast company and brought their 2nd son, Chad, into the world in 1972. In 1990, Allen changed careers and worked at a trade show company as an Operations Manager where he created lasting memories with lifelong friends.

He retired in 2010 for health reasons which gave him the time to spend on his many hobbies. He was a classic car enthusiast and was most proud of his bright red, 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XLT convertible.  He loved showing it off in car shows and parades. He was an avid cribbage player and was on golf and bowling leagues. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, boating and even water skiing.  All hobbies have since become passions of his boys.  He was a huge dog lover and loved spoiling his King Charles Cavalier, Cooper.

In 2021, he and Jacki decided it was time to escape the brutal Minnesota winters and moved to Ocala, FL. They quickly acclimated to their new community and formed deep and lasting friendships with people who have since become their Florida family.  Allen was known for taking Cooper on daily golf cart rides throughout their community. Everyone loved seeing and greeting the duo.  Allen knew no strangers. He and Jacki enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, and spending time in the sun with their friends.

He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Macy (18) and Sydney (16).  He would show them off in his convertible in the local parades; spoiled them by making his famous pancakes and root beer floats, and was honored to take Macy to pre-school every day when she was little.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings and survived by his wife, Jacqueline Beckrich, of 56 years; their two children, Todd (Renee) Beckrich of Saint Louis Park, MN and Chad (Amy) Beckrich of Farmington, MN; grandchildren, Macy and Sydney; and siblings, Agnes (Peter) Braverman of Cottage Grove, MN, and Rita Kenow of Faribault, MN and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Allen’s (Butch’s) life will be held in Minnesota and announced at a later date.

When my first husband Steve and I moved to Minnesota, Butch and Jacki were our neighbors and became some of our best friends. We have more memories together than I can tell about. Butch was a fun-loving and caring friend. We will never forget him.

Although I only met Allen a few years ago when I was in ocala for the winter, he was a great guy. I know he loved his wife and family very much. We shared some good memories at the clubhouse. He was devoted to cooper and I enjoyed seeing his golf cart at the end of his ride with the two of them happy to be out. He always had a smile and a cheerful greeting. He will be missed.

Rick Javorka

I met Allen and his beautiful wife Jackie when they moved in a few houses down from us here in Ocala FL. We hit it off immediately. What a great couple and my wife Julie and I would see them out as we would be taking rides on our golf cart and would stop to chat "for a few minutes" and wind up talking for hours. Over time we became friends and finding out Allen's great sense of humor, making us laugh quite often and hard, and Jackie's kindness and love. I'm really going to miss Allen. I loved working on projects with him around the house, and visiting as he was always a blast to be around. I never knew when he and Cooper would stop by just to chat. He was a good man, and a great friend. RIP, Allen 🙏 Rick Javorka
