Allie I. Johnson, 89, of Cromwell, died Friday, December 23, 2011 in Villa Vista Care Center, Cromwell. She was born December 24, 1921 in Cromwell, the youngest of six children of Santer and Mary Rentola. Allie attended Eagle Lake Grade School and was a 1940 graduate of Cromwell High School. She married Reino Peterson in September of 1945. For many years, Allie was employed in retail and helped her husband, Reino, on the farm. She married Walter Johnson, her high school sweetheart, on January 19, 1986 and they lived in Woodbury before moving to Cromwell in 2007. Allie was a delightful hostess and loved to entertain her family and friends and she also enjoyed cooking and traveling. Allie was preceded in death by her first husband, Reino Peterson in 1971; her son, Gordon Peterson in 1994; her second husband, Walter Johnson in 2011; her parents; two sisters, Mary and Lillian; a brother, Uno Rentola; and a step-daughter, Emily Johnson. She is survived by her grandchildren, Travis and Lisa Peterson of Cromwell and Marin Johnson of California; daughter-in-law, Carol Peterson (Tom Johnson) of Cromwell; two sisters, Elma Karki of Waconia and Pearl Tharaldson of Carlton; step-son, Paul Johnson of California; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Villa Vista Care Center for the loving care given to Allie during her stay. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.
