Memorial

Alphonso Robert Stines (Al, Fuzzy) "To everything there is a time: A time to be born and a time to die; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance. There is nothing better for a person than to be happy and do good while they live." Ecclesiastes 4:3. - and Al did it all!! Alphonso "Al, Fuzzy" Stines, beloved husband, father and brother passed away peacefully on March 7th at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He leaves behind to grieve his passing and to celebrate his life are his beloved wife Norma and his two children: son, Bill (grand-daughter Sophia), daughter Yvette Sornberger an son-in-law Doug Sornberger (grand-daughters Alyvia and Maleigha). Al was born on July 5th, 1938 to Betty an Ed Stines in Denver. Both of his parents are deceased and waiting for him in heaven. Also waiting for him are two deceased brothers - Richard and Steven. He leaves behind two brothers: Rudy of Denver, Arthur (Florence) of San Antonio, TX, four sisters: Cleo Erwin (Richard) of Clermont, Florida, Barbara Bunting of Lakewood, Bernie Rivera (Lou) of Centennial, and Veronica of Denver. Also left behind, from coast to coast, are numerous nieces and nephews who will always cherish their memories of "Uncle Fuzzy." Al put up a good fight against cancer, then finally lost the battle - nevertheless, as usual, he put up a good fight. His final wish was to be at his three granddaughter' graduation ceremonies, -- and he will be there, girls, watching all three of you from heaven. Al was raised in Denver, attended Denver West High and went to Colorado State in Greeley, where he got his Degree in "Education" and that was his life!! He went to teach in California with Norma by his side. His two children were born in California and Al retired in the California Public School System in San Jose, California in 1998. Once he retired, he headed "home" to Colorado, to enjoy what he loved best - family, hunting, and fishing in the Colorado Rockies. He was an avid outdoorsman - hunting and fishing as often as he could - taking along his wife and two children (and in time their spouses and beloved granddaughters). Al will be cremated and, in time, his family will spread his ashes at his favorite hunting and fishing sites in his beloved Colorado Rockies. A memorial mass will be on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at Light of the World Roman Catholic Church, 10316 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80127 at 10:30 a.m. Following the mass there will be a reception for family and friends.
