Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations.

For many years I had the honer of caring for miss Amy. She always called me Cage even tho she knew it drove me crazy and she did know my name. She had endless pictures that we had to frame while watching one of her musicals. She enjoyed whole heartedly when I baked or cooked a meal. Taking her to and from work she loved to ride in my little red car and if she was being really nice we would runaway to go look for cows. She will be dearly missed. Sending love to her family in this time of loss. Thank you for letting me be part of your lives for as long as she lived at HIL and Autumn winds.

Tom I’m so sorry to hear of Amy’s passing. I remember her from when you lived on Hwy Q. I was married to Wayne Schultz. I have a stepson who attends St Colettas EXCEL program now. That is a wonderful facility. Jean Walker

What is your favorite memory shared with Amy?

I was able to work with Amy for a few years at HIL. She loved her musicals so much! I know almost every word to "Mama Mia" because of her. Every night before bed she had to say goodnight to all her cow stuffed animals 🐮 She loved laughing at our ridiculous antics at work, and she enjoyed sweet treats whenever possible. She was a light in this world, and I am saddened to hear of her passing.
