Anastasia ""Stacey"" Slapp, age 74, of Venice, Florida, passed away on June 14, 2017. She was born on October 9, 1942 in Rockland County, New York. Stacey moved to Venice in 1972 from Stony Point, New York and was a member of Epiphany Cathedral. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe, who was the former Venice Chief of Police; four sons, Joseph V. of Venice, James of Naples, Florida, Kevin of Miami, Florida, Jeffrey of Venice; two sisters, Shirley Hladic of Stony Point, NY, Marian Makowski of Las Vegas, NV and two brothers, Neil Conklin of Georgetown, TX and Tom Conklin of Tigard, OR. Stacey also leaves behind four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Epiphany Cathedral with inurnment to follow in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
