Angelina Leyba Torrez
November 30th, 2002 - December 21st, 2018
Angelina Rebecca Leyba Torrez, 81 passed away on December 21, 2018 in Tempe, Arizona with her son by her side. Angelina was born and raised in St. John's, Arizona. In 1971 Angelina married Simplicio G. Torrez at which time she gained five bonus children. As newlyweds they moved to Denver, Colorado until returning to Arizona in 1993. Angelina loved being back in Arizona near her extended family. Angelina is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Petra Leyba, brothers Teddy and Joe Leyba, sisters Betty Saiz and Modesta Leyba and daughter Margaret Dulworth. Angelina is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Simplicio "Picho" Torrez, her devoted son, Michael (Christina) Torrez, daughters Josephine Frampton and Lucy Torrez, sons Simplicio Jr. and Remigio Torrez. Angelina also leaves behind sisters, Mary Corona, Gloria Ploof and Helen Hernandez and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Meldrum Mortuary (www.meldrummortuary.com). Services will be held on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 with visitation at 8:30am and Rosary at 9:00am at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201 and funeral mass at 10:00am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N Macdonald, Mesa AZ 85201.
