Anna Willis
November 8th, 1935 - October 22nd, 2014
Anna Lee Willis, born 8 November 1935, was called home on 22 October 2014. She passed peacefully from natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Willis, mom Roberta Ruth Butcher, step father James Flavio Butcher, father Carl Dawson, sister Louise Marlow and brother Herbert Dawson. She is survived by her daughter Linda Ann Moody and son-in-law Jason Adam Moody of Lakewood, WA, sisters Kathleen (Kitty) Smith of Cleveland, TN, and Francis Benish of London, Ontario, Canada. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews of whom she was quite fond and loved with all her heart. Falling in love with a dashing young airman, Anna Lee Dawson became Anna Lee Willis in August of 1956. Robert and Anna Lee served their country with pride for 20 years in the United States Air Force. Their assignments together included Nova Scotia, Savannah, Georgia, Ft. Worth, Texas, San Antonio, Texas, and Mountain Home, Idaho. Although she was born in West Virginia, she and her husband fell in love with Texas and decided to make San Antonio, Texas their home in 1970. They resided there until 1986 when Anna Lee’s career took them to Dallas, Texas and subsequently to Austin, Texas four years later. Her entire career in the mortgage industry spanned over 30 years with numerous banks and mortgage companies in the state of Texas from San Antonio to Dallas and finishing in Austin, where she resided until 2012 when she moved to Colorado Springs, CO to be with her daughter and son-in-law. Anna Lee’s trademarks of compassion and caring were visible to all whose lives were touched by her efforts to help those she could along the way. Sewing was her passion, and those who knew her best can fondly remember her wandering the aisles for hours in fabric stores and dreaming of her next design. There will be a memorial service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in the summer of 2015 at which time her remains will be interred with her husband’s.
