Anthony Delano Funches January 17th 1947’June 21st 2017, youngest son of Viginia Banks Funches and Lafayette Louis Funches, Sr. graduated Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California and West Los Angeles College, Los Angeles California. “Tony” served honorably in the United States Air Force from 196___to 196___. His life journey includes sound and security service with notable bands and entertainment icons The Doors and The Rolling Stones. A beloved and well-known figure in the Denver area Tony was part of the storied early history of Feyline, the entertainment organization which some have said is synonymous with music culture in the Western United States, Anthony was also a talented artist some family members are lucky enough to have sketches he’s drawn over time. Tony also owned and operated several automobile body and repair shops around the Denver area taught his nieces, nephew and son much of what they now know about maintaining their own automobiles. For the past several years Anthony worked on a book chronicling his time spent with the doors Rolling Stone and other notable musicians figures from the lens of a young black man in the 1960s and post Vietnam. The family hope to complete the book posthumously in tribute to a much loved Father, “Granpa”, Brother. Uncle, Nephew, Cousin” and true friend. Among family who will continue to celebrate his life and miss him are Tony’s family: Son, daughter-in-law and grandchild, Jason Jodi and Milesand his daughter, Vanessa. His sisters Brenda and Bernice and brother Lafayette will hold him always in their hearts, as will a host of Family and Friends He always spoke his mind and that did not change. He was one of a kind. We will miss his intelligence and wit.
