Anthony "Tony" James Maldonado

Anthony "Tony" James Maldonado was born on February 6, 1949 in Walsenburg, Colorado. He was welcomed into Heaven's Gates on June 19, 2021.He is preceded in death by his son, Tony Ray Maldonado; his mother and father, Mary Martinez and Eloy Maldonado; his brother, Ronnie Maldonado; and his sisters, Shirley Matthews, Diane Maldonado, and Geneva Jean Maldonado; and his nephew, Fernando Cota.Tony leaves behind two sisters, Sharon Cota and Betty Franco-Mayen (David Gonzalez); and his significant other, Jeanette Tafoya. He had three biological grandchildren, Sonny (Lexis) Maldonado, Celeste (Keitron) Williams, and Aaliyah Maldonado; and four great-grandchildren, Julyan Anthony Maldonado, Nevaeh Sianna, Nariyah Noelle, and Zayden Tyrell Williams; and several nieces and nephews, Raquel (David Martinez) and Rhonda Perea, Eddie Gonzalez, Ernie and Mario Medina, and Marlo Maldonado; and several great-nieces and nephews.Tony enjoyed his old school music, he loved playing cards, and he was an artist. He was a very strong and independent man. Even till the bitter end he said he would conquer it. And he did!He wouldn't want us to mourn for him, he would want for us to celebrate his new adventure in Heaven.
