Archie Franklin Anderson, 89 of Cloquet died Friday, March 28, 2014 in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. He was born May 1, 1924 in Barnum to Oscar and Johanna Anderson and was raised on a farm. He graduated from Barnum High School in 1943. In high school, Archie played football. In March of 1945 he married LaVerne Martin in Cloquet. They made their home in Cloquet until moving back to the farm in Barnum. In 1958 they left the farm and moved to Cloquet. Archie worked at Conwed for 35 years, retiring in 1982. Archie served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed traveling the United States, including Alaska. Archie was preceded in death by his wife LaVerne on June 3, 2013; brother, Ivar Stone; and sister, Doris Stone Hultberg. He is survived by his son, Jim (JoAnn) Anderson of Cloquet; grandson, Jamie (Rachel) Anderson of Minnetonka; great grandson, Justin Anderson of Minnetonka; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Inter-Faith Care Center for the compassionate care given to Archie. Private family services were held.
