Arelean Lewis Gregory, 77, of Columbia, entered into rest, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at her home. Born August 12, 1937 in Currie, NC she was a daughter of the late Leon Rufus and Lellon (Norris) Lewis. Mrs. Gregory adored her family and will be remembered by those she loved as the best Momma and MawMaw. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by her husband of more than 59 years, Bobby Lee Gregory; as well as a son, Bobby Lee Gregory, Jr. She is survived by six children, Barbara Gregory Staton (Albert), Dennis R. Gregory, Christie Gregory-Hinson, Debbie L. Gregory (Terry Pritchard), Patricia Gregory DeShong (Mike), and Jackie G. Marsh (Mac); eight brothers and sisters, and a sister-in-law, Beverly Gregory. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jessica Hinson, Albert Staton, Shawn Gregory, Stephanie Gregory, Sydney DeShong, Maighan Gregory, Salange Morgan, KayLea DeShong, Maggie and Emily Marsh; as well as seven great grandchildren, Gracie, Malichi, Elijah, Nevaeh, Joseph, Noah and Lindsey. A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Gregory will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209, with Chaplain Rob Cely. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
