Diuguid Funeral Services & Crematory - Timberlake
Arnold Wayne Laughlin
August 26th, 1947 - July 25th, 2024
Arnold Wayne Laughlin, 76, of Timberlake, VA, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2024. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Audrey Croft Laughlin. He is also survived by his two sons Kevin Todd Laughlin (April) of Amherst, VA, and Justin Bradley Laughlin (Tracy) of Roanoke, VA and one beloved granddaughter Ayslynn Reese Laughlin. As well as a large and extended Croft Family from Goode and surrounding areas.
Arnold was born on August 26, 1947 to John and Olivia Laughlin of Bedford, Virginia. After high school graduation from New London High School he worked a variety of jobs including McGees Furniture, the Lynchburg Police Department, James T. Davis, Campbell-Payne, and owned and operated Sedalia Country Store.
Arnold was never still and wasn’t content unless he had a project to work on. He was the first to lend a hand to help his neighbors or family with building anything. He and Audrey remodeled and restored over a dozen homes together and were even featured on HGTV ‘Old Homes Restored’. In his retirement, he enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s sports games and activities, taking care of the lawn, going for rides (in the car and in boats on Timberlake) as well as gardening. His vegetables will be missed by all. Arnold never met a stranger and would be the first to say pull up a chair and let’s have a beer. His granddaughter often said “There isn’t anything my Poppy can’t fix” and she was absolutely correct. We will miss his generosity, strong will, welcoming demeanor and devotion to his family.
A visitation with the family will be held at Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory 21914 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg on Monday July 29, 2024 from 5 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Campbell County Rescue Squad.
