Arturo Flores
September 5th, 1941 - July 26th, 2020
Arturo Flores of Chandler went peacefully home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday July 26th. Friends called him “Art”, but his true joy was being called “Brother”, “Husband”, “Dad” or “Papa”. Art was born September 5, 1941 in Cuevitas Texas, the son of the late Hesmerejildo and Gregoria Flores of Mission Texas. He served in the US Army, Vietnam Veteran; a retired Career Professional; a Minister of God’s Word and an active member of Mesa Baptist Church. Throughout Art’s life he enjoyed building his knowledge of the Bible and was an avid student attending both Biola College and Patriot Bible University earning him his Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Studies. In his early years, both Art and his former wife Eunice traveled to Mexico as missionaries under the Mexican Baptist Church making several trips to share the Gospel. Additionally, Art and Eunice along with ministers Pat & Leticia Morales and Samuel & Elizabeth Nandakumar established the International Ministries at First Baptist Church of San Jose, CA. From 1993 through 2000 along with his current wife Brenda, they Church planted under the Southern Baptist Association from North Carolina to Colorado. 1995 Art became an Ordained Minister in Burgaw, North Carolina. While Art worked as a career professional he led the Public High School “Junior Achievement” program teaching young adults Applied Economics. Every summer Art enjoyed traveling to Huntington Beach with his family, walking the pier, camping at Dana Point, and taking every opportunity to share the Gospel but most of all he lived his life with dedication to his family and those around him. Art was a free-lance Christian writer and has authored over 50 mini- manuscripts. Art also served as a Notary Public for the State of Arizona. This past February, Art traveled back to San Jose, CA to officiate his eldest granddaughter Elyse’s marriage, which brought him great joy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister’s; Aurora Flores, Criselda F. Sanchez, Guadalupe Sanchez and Juanita Flores, first wife Eunice Flores and daughter Alissa Miriam Flores. Arts is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 26 years Brenda Flores and five adult children; Arturo Timeteo Flores, Myra Dyannah Eitel (Carl), Hope Deanna Sniff (Bryan), Jimmy Glenn Holloway (Amanda) and Tenna Rae Ruiz (Jarrod) along with five grandchildren; Elyse Eunice Crummett (Brian), Travis-James Uel Eitel, Connor Sniff, Madelyn Rose Ruiz, and Lily Rian Ruiz and one great grandchild. Additionally surviving are Arts siblings; Leopoldo Flores (Esperanza), Armando Flores (Tabitha), Arnaldo Flores (Angela), Alicia F. Sanchez (Uvaldo), Hesmerejildo Flores Jr. (Celia), Maria F. Fonseca (Rogelio), Evangelina F. Martinez (Jesus), Celedina F. Tollison (David), Noemi Cardenas (Juan) and Alma Linda Flores. He will be most remembered for his passionate soul that influenced us all to be the best reflection of our Lord Jesus Christ. As quoted from one of his mini-manuscripts “Deuteronomy 10:12-13 sums up everything quite well, “What does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commands of the Lord and His statues.” This is what God requires of us, both in our obedience and worship of Him. We must worship God in spirit and in truth, if we really want to go to heaven. There will be no viewing. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. at Mesa Baptist Church, Friday, August 21, 2020 address is; 2425 S. Alma School Road, Mesa, AZ 85201 with reception immediately following.
