David Barry Smith WEST COLUMBIA: Services for David Barry Smith, 62, of West Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011, at Trinity Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Eddie Coakley, Dr. R. Haskell Bolding and Rev. Donald S. Turner. Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 455 St. Andrews Rd., Columbia, SC 29210 or Hope Lodge in Charleston, 269 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC 29401. Mr. Smith went to be with his Lord Thursday, September 8, 2011. Born in Abbeville, SC, he was a son of Margaret B. Smith and the late David Z. Smith. Mr. Smith was the owner/operator of Red Oak Mobile Home Park; he was a member of Midland Rider Group and Columbia Chapter Motorcycle Group; and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Mr. Smith was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving are his mother, Margaret B. Smith of West Columbia; daughters, Ingrid Yon (Jay) of Gilbert and Angela Campbell of Lexington; sister, Sheryl Shelley (Dudley) of West Columbia; brother, Tim Smith (Ramona) of Cayce; grandmother, Helen Black; four grandchildren and many other beloved relatives and friends.
